Kindness Cards

This year marks our 6th Annual Kindness Cards for Seniors campaign!

Since 2020, community members of all ages have created thoughtful and kind Christmas cards, letters and artwork for seniors and elders living in Tweedsmuir House, Heritage Manor, Carroll Cottage & The Pines. After collecting all of the items, Lakes Literacy organizes them into packages and delivers them in time for Christmas 🎄

💌 Kindness Cards will be collected from December 1-17, 2025.

💌 Note to Teachers: Your class contributions to this project are always deeply appreciated! We would be so grateful if you could find some time in your lesson planning for some letter writing and/or card making.

💌 We’re expanding this year to reach even more seniors!
With support from The Link, we’ll be giving card packages not only to residents in the four supported homes, but also to seniors and elders living independently and connected to their programs.

💌 We’re aiming to collect 500–600 community-made cards, which will allow us to create 3–4 card bundles for about 150 seniors.

💌 Kindness Cards can be dropped off at the Burns Lake Public Library or the Bulkley Valley Credit Union (Burns Lake branch) from December 1–17, 2025.
